What is a Property Tax Exemption?

For qualified property owners, a property tax exemption reduces a portion or all of a property owner’s property taxes.

A property owner qualifies for an exemption by meeting specific requirements established by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue and adopted by the City of Quincy.

What is a Property Tax Exemption?

A property tax exemption is a legal provision that reduces the portion of tax that a property owner owes to the government. This can be either partial or complete.
The property owner qualifies for the exemption by meeting specific requirements established by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue and adopted by the City of Quincy.

Who Qualifies For Property Tax Exemptions

Qualifications differ for each type of exemption, but at a bare minimum the property owners must be domiciled in Quincy.

Who Qualifies For Property Tax Exemptions

The property owners must be domiciled in Massachusetts. A domicile is where your principal, legal home is located. You may have more than one residence, but you can only have one domicile.
